Fall in NYC

As someone who has spent years living in NYC but also enjoys Miami's sun, I’ve come to appreciate the cooler, cozier vibes of fall in the city. Nothing beats the magic of fall in up North. Here is my guide of some of the best seasonal activities New York City has to offer.

1. Leaf-Peeping: Heading upstate is beautiful during fall, but it's not always practical. Fortunately, NYC has its own hidden gems for leaf-peeping. Head to Fort Tryon Park in Upper Manhattan or Sunken Meadow State Park on Long Island for amazing fall views.

2. Apple Picking & Corn Mazes: Head to one of the local farms in the tristate area for some classic fall fun! My favorite is Apple Ridge Orchards in Warwick, NY.

3. Outdoor Markets: NYC’s open-air markets are loaded with all things fall. From hot apple cider to freshly made doughnuts, there’s no better way to enjoy fresh fall food.

4. The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze: If there’s one event that truly captures the spirit of fall, it's the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze. Thousands of intricately carved jack-o'-lanterns create an awe-inspiring spectacle at two locations. The Blaze offers more than just carved pumpkins—it’s a fully immersive experience.

5. Tim Burton’s World at the New York Botanical Garden: The New York Botanical Garden is debuting an all-new light trail inspired by the 1993 classic film Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. It runs from September 27 through November 30, and promises to be unlike anything you’ve seen before.

Fall in NYC is an experience like no other, so get ready to enjoy all the festive charm the season has to offer. Stay tuned for more NYC & Miami guides!
