wTF Wednesday: What is a home inspection?

A home inspection is a report on the condition of a property when it is on the market. A qualified home inspector assesses the property's condition and looks for any issues that may affect the property’s value. Home inspections provide an opportunity for a buyer to identify any significant issues with a home before closing. A home inspection can be significant and can be used as a contingency in your contract with the seller. If a home inspection reveals significant defects, you can back out your purchase offer within a specific timeframe free of penalty. Most home inspections entail checking the standard things: the HVAC system, interior plumbing, electrical systems, floors, windows, walls, and doors; foundation, basement, and structural components.

Did you know... our very own agent, Thomas, is also a home inspector? Thomas can help with many things such as inspections, mold testing, lead base testing, and radon testing. Reach out to Development Marketing Team and see how we can help you with any closing needs.
